What I like about this book is the humor, action, and adventure in it。 I think this a great book and I really enjoyed it。Something I did not really like in this book is how cliche the story line is。 its about a boy with no powers that wants to be a hero even thought no one thinks he can ever be one。 Its pretty obvious that he will become a hero and surprise everyone。The genre of this book is Adventure/fantasy fiction。

It’s jarring to restart this series after first watching the anime but I love seeing my boys grow into the characters that are much stronger and more substantial than who we first see。 I love this series with all of my being

My Hero Academia is such a fun manga series that combines a love of superheroes and school stories。 The main character Deku is so relatable because the author intentionally made him seem "plain" to the reader at first。 This is something I think we can all relate to - not being terrible, but not being great, not standing out, not grabbing attention。 Deku doesn't have a super power like 80% of the evolved population of Earth, but his heart is one of a heroes heart。This initial book follows as Deku My Hero Academia is such a fun manga series that combines a love of superheroes and school stories。 The main character Deku is so relatable because the author intentionally made him seem "plain" to the reader at first。 This is something I think we can all relate to - not being terrible, but not being great, not standing out, not grabbing attention。 Deku doesn't have a super power like 80% of the evolved population of Earth, but his heart is one of a heroes heart。This initial book follows as Deku moves from Middle School to High School and tries his best to get into his dream Hero Academy。 This is a strong start to a series of unbelievable characters of all sorts and has some great little references to our favorite already known hero stories - Superman, Mario Brothers, etc。 I gave this series a 4/5 star rating and plan to continue to read this one。 Great for manga fans of all ages - rated teen - but I am happy to put this in the library for 6-8th grade。 Also great for those that love Marvel and DC movies and comics as well。 。。。more

A amazing manga about a kid trying to get into a superhero school even though he's one of the rare people without quirks (superpowers)The art and story are both solid。 A amazing manga about a kid trying to get into a superhero school even though he's one of the rare people without quirks (superpowers)The art and story are both solid。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It helps kids get in the progress of imagintation and some kids can also learn that you can be very good no matter how people think you are。 I have read this book my self and it was really good :)Also Deku was an outsider but then he started to fit in and he really didn't care but when he did care was when he was a little kid and when he was bullied。 It helps kids get in the progress of imagintation and some kids can also learn that you can be very good no matter how people think you are。 I have read this book my self and it was really good :)Also Deku was an outsider but then he started to fit in and he really didn't care but when he did care was when he was a little kid and when he was bullied。 。。。more

So I'm not a huge Manga reader, however, for May, I had a challenge to read at least one。 After rifling through a few, I decided to give this one a chance! It's my oldest nephew's favorite so that helped with the decision as well。 It was good! For those who've never read it, the story is pretty much about this one kid who gets into superhero school。 There's more to it, but I don't want to spoil anything! I don't know that I'll continue reading the series, but I might! I really did enjoy it! Have you ever wondered what a society full of superheroes and supervillains is like? Well in this story the society is dominated by superheroes and supervillains they have superpowers called quirk。 This story goes into the life of Izuku Midoriya also known as Deku in how he's born different than everyone else but he's gonna become the best hero。 I recommend this book to everyone because it's a very good read and if you wanna know how Deku's born different and his journey on becoming the best her Have you ever wondered what a society full of superheroes and supervillains is like? This was a really good book, it had everything that I would want in a regular graphic novel。 Although the way that you have to read the manga really confused me, I got it。 It had a good plot and just explained the storyline very well。 It is a good manga for people who want to try manga for the first time。

Shigaraki, Twice, Togo。 All of them are so well written。 Stain! The Stain arc was such a good arc to read。 There is so much I could talk about, but I’ll leave the experience to future readers。 Thank you, Horikoshi, for blessing this world with such a great book series。 。。。more

So。。。 after the Spring Scholastic book fair, I was told by my head librarian that My Hero Academia was a hit and even it's poster sold like hot cakes。 I've always wanted to learn more about what my students like to read and why it is so popular, so naturally I had to pick up this book。 I see a lot of value in being up to date with what is popular with hopes for trickling that into what I teach。 Vol 1 of My Hero Academia was a pretty good pilot into the series。 It revolves around a boy names Izuk So。。。 after the Spring Scholastic book fair, I was told by my head librarian that My Hero Academia was a hit and even it's poster sold like hot cakes。 I've always wanted to learn more about what my students like to read and why it is so popular, so naturally I had to pick up this book。 I see a lot of value in being up to date with what is popular with hopes for trickling that into what I teach。 Vol 1 of My Hero Academia was a pretty good pilot into the series。 It revolves around a boy names Izuku Midoriya who figures out that he is 'quirk'less (terminology Horikoshi uses that resembles a superpower)。 The world seems to be fairly present day with super heroes and heroines with quirks being the norm rather than a special thing。 It is more uncommon to not have a quirk than to have one - which is what makes Izuku's situation all the more tragic。 He ends up meeting a girl who seems to be able to manipulate gravity and allow people to float。 The volume teases more characters to come in vol 2 which is a nice cliff hanger。 Although the plot boils down to super heroes going to school to be trained by professional super heroes to become better super heroes - it was fairly interesting。 I can't stop thinking of X-Men or Sky High and think that this type of story has been done before - not that Sky High was good at all。。。 Still, I enjoyed the action, introduction of characters, and story arc enough to pick up the second one。 I can see why the boys in my class appreciate the series。 It's a story with tons of action, a plot where a boy of their age becomes a super hero, and did I mention ACTION? 。。。more
